How fun is it to do engagement photos in the spot where your fiance proposed? It’s such a sentimental idea! If my husband and I had done it that way we would’ve been posing in the living room of my in-laws house. Ultimately, we decided on City Park in New Orleans six and a half years ago. While Jason’s parents have a beautiful home with lots of history we decided we wanted something more picture-esque with mossy oaks and stone bridges. But for Katie and Matt the location their proposal took place couldn’t get more scenic! Matt proposed at the top of the Louisiana State Capitol, and while we couldn’t access the very top of the historic building on this day we still got to explore Capitol Park and take so many candid shots with it in the background!
Katie and Matt are one of my lovely #ashleykcouples and I am so excited to shoot their wedding next April! But I’m also sad, because I have to WAIT until next April to hang out with them again! They’re a super fun couple and Katie has the BEST laugh!
The sun started to set and we entered the blue hour at this point and I loved every second of it! We decided to hit up downtown Baton Rouge for the second half and the scenic city provided some amazing backdrops for these two to laugh and dance and just have fun throughout the town!
Congratulations Katie and Matt! I had so much fun exploring the city and getting to know the both of you! Can’t wait to party it up with y’all next year at your wedding!
