Elopement

I’m so fortunate to have this job. I meet sweet people, capture their beautiful love stories and do it all over again the next week. Tricia and Stephen are one of those sweet couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with. After spending the last 6 years together, two of those years engaged, they decided to ditch the wedding plan process and elope to good ole’ New Orleans! And boy am I glad they did! They are such amazing people and I truly had a blast during our time together.

Before their ceremony they opted to do a grand reveal/first look. Traditionally with elopements the couple arrives together but Stephen and Tricia decided to show up separately so they could both be surprised. I set Stephen up under one of the beautiful oaks in Audubon park and put Tricia right behind him. The results were flawless! Stephen’s reaction was just absolutely perfect. He couldn’t stop checking out his beautiful bride. And who could blame him, Tricia was absolutely radiant! After a few tender moments their ceremony started and as always, it was beautiful. They shared heart-felt vows written just for one another and at the end they were serenaded by another ceremony’s violinist practicing nearby. It was just all around an amazing moment! After they were pronounced husband and wife, we did some of their portraits in the park and then decided to hit up the city. Our first stop was the Roosevelt where they were staying. It truly is a beautiful hotel and it’s definitely on my bucket list to stay there! We got an iconic shot in front of their antique light post and golden-sign. After that we set out for Jackson Square for more New Orleans-esque backdrops. Our final stop was Chartre’s street. It’s lined with beautiful balconies and lush ferns, as well as the hustle-and-bustle of city life. In all the chaos around them, Stephen and Tricia made it look like they were the only two in the city.

Below are some of my favorites from the day! Stephen and Tricia, I’m so honored I got witness the beginning of your marriage! May the laughs never stop and love you two share continue to grow!
